Based in Padborg (Denmark), NIKOSAX is a leading tax service provider in the field of
VAT and Excise Duty refund as well as VAT registration and declaration for
transport and logistics companies in Europe.
Established in 1969, NIKOSAX has 50 years of experience serving over 6000
customers in 19 European languages from four locations: Padborg, Budapest,
Burgas and Warsaw. We are part of the Edenred family - as a subsidiary of
UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA), a leading provider for fuel and service cards.

Powered by 60 employees and a rich experience collaborating with partners and tax authorities across Europe, we offer our customers the opportunity to optimize their operational cash flow by arranging pre-financing for VAT and Excise Duty refund claims. This gives our customers the leverage to diversify their funding from the classical bank loan.

Historical Summary
On the 1st of June 1969, the couple Niels Eddau Kock and Maria Dorothea Kock in collaboration with Jan Saxberg, a former colleague and friend, founded the company NIKOSAX IMPORT - EXPORT AGENCY. The name NIKO SAX was obtained by taking NI KO from Nlels KOck and SAX from SAXberg. Jan Saxberg was however, only in the company for a few months.
At the end of 1969, Niels and Maria while taking advantage of the new possibilities for reimbursements of Danish and German VAT for internationally operating carriers, established NIKOSAX INTERNATIONAL VAT AGENCY. Founded based on the idea to help truck drivers applying for VAT refund when crossing the Danish-German border, NIKOSAX'S initial work area included Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy.
NIKOSAX has had success in developing its business model to include Excise Duty refund as well as Administrative Services.
In November 2008, NIKOSAX became a wholly-owned subsidiary of UTA, UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG. which is now owned by Edenred.
NIKOSAX continues to ensure that customers experience a smooth and uncomplicated tax registration, declaration and refund process across Europe.
